MS Teams is now rock-solid in rendering icons and text. It did then hang at 97.2% of installation for ~72 hours (over the weekend) at which point, I rebooted, and all seems to be working again. This seems to have worked as it then detected the FirePro W7000 and completed 97.2% of the installation. So, I tried it again with the eGPU unplugged and then as soon as I saw the screen that said 'looking for an AMD GPU', I plugged it in. It failed at that step to recognize that I had an AMD GPU - makes sense because it was unplugged at the time. I tested installing the AMD software when the eGPU was not plugged in and was able to get past the translucent window I saw before to a new screen where it attempted to detect an appropriate GPU. However, it wasn't a perfect fix, so I still wanted to have the W7000 driver update. When I disabled the dock as a display adapter, this corrected 99% of my rendering issues with Microsoft Teams.

In my setup, I have a Lenovo Pro USB-C/A dock which shows in Device Manager as a display adapter, a laptop with integrated Intel display adapter, and the AMD FirePro W7000 as a display adapter. I think the issues I was having were a result of too many display adapters.

I would very much like to update the driver for my FirePro to the latest version, but cannot seem to pass through this step, nor find a way around installing the entire suite of AMD Enterprise software (which I probably don't need).Īll - I was able to fix this issue, and thought I would share my experience for anyone else who might have issues similar to mine.
